15 years means too much! To be honest I never used any of my backpacks for so long time. I used my favorite backpack for 11 years and it was looking old (No tear) and I bought a new.
Generally, good quality hiking backpacks are made by very durable anti-tear fabrics as I mentioned in the review. Still, Teton is my #No1 suggestion if you are looking for especially durability. They offer a lifetime warranty. Mountaintop comes in the second position.

Before I read this post I thought that we only need to consider the fabric and room space in choosing a hiking backpack. Body measurement is not something that a regular, non-hiking person would take into consideration so thank you for this information.
I experienced mountain hiking once. The trail was beginner friendly but there are also extraneous paths. My cousin lend me his backpack and I was quite relieved that I have something to use. It’s one of those types with the secured belt. I remember how uncomfortable I was during the hike and I’m pretty sure it was the back. It’s like carrying a long sack at the back and the belt was not helping. Feels like all the weight is distributed on my waist.
Speaking of belts, Terra Peak looks comfortable to carry as it specifically pointed out that it’s adjustable for any body type. How I wish good hiking backpack was available then
