The owner of Rock Cliff Home Stay is a very nice and kind person; if you can make a nice bonding with him, he may offer you a local tour riding his own vintage cars, as did with us.

The rooms are clean and well maintained, staff and management are superb.

The property has an in-house restaurant offering various dishes; for the breakfast, you may choose continental or a buffet based on your choice.

This one is one of the oldest and most beautiful staying options in Shillong, featured with excellent tranquility, great decoration, amazing location, 2 restaurants, an on-site bar, and free private parking facility.

You’ll absolutely love feeling the place; the location, the environment, heritage colonial-style room, well-maintained garden, all are the prior reasons to fall in love with. The forest view wooden cottages, valley wing, and heritage wing are just amazing to stay in, and definitely among my top choices.

Common facilities like a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a private bathroom, kettle bathrobes, slippers, and free toiletries in each room, and free wifi facilities are included here.

The staff is very professional, extremely well behaved, and courteous; they serve you with a smiling face always.

The restaurants offer great quality foods. In case, you are traveling with your baby, don’t mind requesting them for special food, they will prepare completely safe and tasty food (Khichdi) for the little one.

You may enjoy the bar, bonfire, and live music in the evening time; the external seating areas attached with some units are more than perfect to relax in after a busy hiking day. A gift shop is also attached to the property.

This peaceful homestay is situated at a picture-perfect destination on the Tripura castle road; it’s away from the noise and traffic but still well connected to the city center.

The room is spacious (second floor) and well equipped with a terrace, free wifi, dining, kitchen (includes a microwave, toaster, cutlery, and other equipment), parking area, and a flat-screen TV.

If you sit on the terrace in the early morning, you must be blown away by the magnificent view of the evergreen Shillong hills as well as the spectacular sunrise.

I’d say it’s a cute little place just away from the crowd, very well maintained and hygienic. Everybody from the staff to the owners is very polite and obliged that you must feel this place a home away from home.

The rooms and bathroom are large and spacious. Every morning when you take breakfast in their dining, you’ll experience a refreshing view from their dining window.

Getting good food at a reasonable price is a difficulty at an off-track resort/homestay. Here in Mid Pine Home Stay, you can easily complete your lunch and dinner in a nearby restaurant at Laitumkhrah Market if you wish. However, the homestay has its own restaurant (closed on Sunday), they also serve quality fresh foods at a reasonable cost; the choice is yours.

8. Cleveland Homestay

The moment we’ll drive inside the property you’ll feel WOW. It’s not located in the heart of the city, so you can avoid the rush. Rather you can enjoy a sensitive morning walk through the Tripura Castle road or to the Cathedral.

Excellent location, beautiful atmosphere, very helpful staff, and gentleman owner, these 4 pillars of Cleveland Homestay let you feel like your own home.

Besides, the rooms in Cleaveland Homestay are big and spacious enough to feel comfortable inside; if the King room is allotted for you, you are a lucky fellow, this is the largest room in the property with a balcony, extra bed, large bathroom. The exterior is well decorated. Free WiFi and free private parking are also available here.

They don’t have their own restaurant (when I visited) and thus you have to depend on external home delivery options. People from certain regions, especially those who always prefer a bit spicy and tasty foods, may not be satisfied with their catering service as it all depends on specific food habits; but people who don’t mind much about food-taste during a tour, the catering service will be more than satisfactory to them. I personally give a 7.5/10 rating to the catering service.

9. The Loft Executive Inn

Although this place is a bit away from the city center, the market is well accessible from this place. You have to walk a little then take a taxi to reach the market. However, when you are traveling explore a place market may not need regularly but you definitely comfort matters. From this view, I believe Loft Executive Inn is a great peak.

In one sentence I’d say the inn is one of the best in Shillong to spend relaxed times with your loved ones.

The staff was well behaved and very welcoming. Food quality is also good, but not the best.

You should take the rooms with a balcony, other rooms don’t have proper windows.

10. Da Blanche

Far away from the city center, Da Blanche situated at the edge of the green valley offering an enchanting view all around! These few words can provide you the best idea about the tranquility and serenity of this location. If you book the valley view rooms, you may enjoy a fresh morning watching the widespread green valley right from your room.

Like the excellent landscapes, the owner and other staff are equally well behaved and helpful.

Among other facilities, free WiFi, a restaurant, free private parking are available here. Each guest room is featured with a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom providing free toiletries.

The restaurant serves Chinese cuisine; this guest house may not be suitable for the people who don’t prefer Chinese dishes.
